Reading 3.8 Critique the credibility of characterization and the degree to which a plot is contrived or realistic (e.g., compare use of fact and fantasy in historical fiction).

1. Draw a picture of the character on one side of the card. Try to include his or her character traits in your picture.

2. Read each of the cards. Decide whether or not the character is credible or not. Tape each character in one of the columns below (use the back of the page as well). Explain why you chose to place the character in that column.

3. Group Work: Have each person in your group draw one or two characters for your story map. Be sure to label their characteristics.

4. Play "Connect Four" game.
